Redesigning Our Production Floor to Better Serve Our Customers

Every investment and choice we make at Dantherm Cooling is driven by one goal; providing greater value to our customers. Impactful strategic decisions are focused on customer impact and can improve lead times, increase production capacity and expand our manufacturing capabilities.

One such decision has already begun to deliver impact for our customers. We recently redesigned our production floor to enhance linear manufacturing flow, making better use of our available space and improving the movement of materials throughout the facility. These changes increase our production capacity, improve workflow, and help us deliver shorter lead times and greater responsiveness to our customers.

Every phase of the redesign was planned with our customers in mind. In addition to adding capacity and improving workflow, we were able to complete much of the work during our slower production season and coordinated each phase to match up with our manufacturing schedule to minimize disruptions. This approach allowed us to continue to meet the needs of our customers, while also improving our facility to better serve them.

PrecisionAir Assembly Line and Inventory Improvements

The new production floor layout allowed for a new PrecisionAir production line, while improving access to shared operations such as brazing and testing. Our production capacity has also been strengthened with the new production line, allowing us to scale production of our PrecisionAir WS units rapidly to meet customer demand. Additionally, the plant floor layout modifications allow us to add over 130 new pallet positions to support inventory growth and have created space for additional equipment to be installed. These improvements also give us more flexibility to respond to customer demand and allows them to receive the products they need more quickly.

Equipment Upgrades Expand In-House Capabilities

Another key driver for our plant floor redesign was to have more of our manufacturing processes in-house, versus using an outside supplier to punch and form sheet metal and manufacture previously outsourced components. The addition of two new state-of-the-art TRUMPF press brakes, a TRUMPF TruPunch and a Kubus machine has expanded our in-house manufacturing capabilities. By bringing these functions in-house, we are better able to closely monitor quality, tighten lead times and ensure rapid, on-time delivery to our customers.

Planning for Rapid Growth

Our forward thinking and strategic capacity planning doesn’t end with this redesign. Future plans include additional facility changes to free up additional manufacturing space for production, adding additional manufacturing lines and expanding our warehouse capacity. Each and every improvement we make strengthens our ability to support our customers but also prepares us to meet their future needs.
