Spartanburg, South Carolina – Dantherm Cooling is pleased to announce its latest product offering, the Portable Environmental Control Unit (VECU). This v variant configuration leverages decades of expertise and Dantherm’s latest cooling technology and designs. The VECU variant is a rugged, self-contained climate control system built for mobility and rapid deployment in applications such as soft-sided shelters, containers, and temporary structures.
For over 30 years, Dantherm has offered industry leading climate control designs for mission critical environments. This latest Portable VECU variant, the model M-VECU-2460, is a fully variable Environmental Control Unit that has an operating range between 24K btu’s (2 Ton) to 60K btu’s (5 Ton) in cooling and heating modes.
The United States Marine Corps has long had an unfulfilled requirement for a portable design, with wide capabilities, suitable for replacing obsolete and non-conforming shelter cooling units. “The new unit utilizes the latest technology in a portable design and also has a very wide range of capacities and enhanced features,” said Roy Patterson, VP – Government Sector at Dantherm Cooling. “It is designed specifically to meet the requirements in features, mobility and rapid deployment that is required by our Federal and State agencies.”
The unit is packed with technology designed specifically for mission critical environments. The unit includes a variable multi-stage compressor, variable speed high output fans, an onboard digital controller as well as numerous thoughtful design details for portability and ease of use.

The Portable VECU product offering comes on the heals of Dantherm’s recently announced contract award with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA).
